Med Student Education black box

Our Anesthesiology Elective Curriculum has been designed to provide students with a solid foundation of the general principles of anesthesia.

Students will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of surgical cases as well as experience the broad scope of anesthesia practice. In addition to rotating in our ORs, students will rotate on the OB and acute pain services. Clinical teaching is supplemented with attendance Anesthesia Bookat resident lectures, medical student case conferences, and grand rounds. In addition, we are excited to provide medical students with teaching sessions at our comprehensive Simulation Center to further develop hands on skills and critical thinking during acute situations. We are continuously working on a curriculum that will keep pace with the dynamic needs of our medical students and new advances in medical knowledge and technology.

Anesthesiology Advanced Clinical Rotation

Course #605A (4 Weeks)

The department's ongoing efforts are to provide the best training for "future anesthesiology residents." Therefore, our advanced-track students will get their feet "wet" and experience the life of a new anesthesiology resident! Following a one day orientation, these students will undertake a "resident role" in the operating room under supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
