Our Annual Resident Retreat was a great success this year. All residents were relieved from clinical responsibilities on Friday afternoon so that they could travel to the La Quinta Resort in Palm Desert.
Saturday morning started with breakfast and an “Icebreaker” game. (We learned some very interesting facts about each other!)
Our serious program then commenced:
Our Chair, Dr. Kain: Vision for the Residency Program
Our Director of Education, Dr. Kudrick: Overview of our new curriculum
Our Program Director, Dr. Anderson: Review of the new Program Requirements
This was followed by a resident working lunch led by the Chiefs, which provided an opportunity for all of our residents to provide input into the program.
After some R&R at the pool, everyone met for Happy Hour, dinner and more games arranged by the resident planning committee. They did a great job on the entertainment with activities that were both fun and provided a chance for all the residents to utilize teamwork skills.
Sunday morning, everyone met for a report from the residents based on their work groups. This provided valuable information to the Faculty Education Team for future planning this year.

Cannes, Nice and the Italian Riviera come to mind when you first enter the lush, landscaped grounds of The Palazzo, a one-of-a-kind, luxury apartment community in Los Angeles. Located directly across from The Grove at the Farmers Market, this prime location is unsurpassed. Towering palms surround the pool and dramatic fountains, world-class full service spa, and European gardens create a sense of peace and tranquility. Mediterranean-styling, gourmet kitchens with granite counters, rustic oak cabinetry, built-in washer & dryers, large terraces, gas fireplaces, custom closets and high speed Internet access make the Palazzo one of the most desirable locations in town.
