Education Programs

UC Irvine Anesthesiology offers an exciting residency program in the heart of sunny Southern California. With rotations at five major hospitals within the community, residents graduate with comprehensive training in pediatric, cardiac, regional and obstetrical anesthesia.

Overview

UC Irvine Anesthesiology is responsible for providing anesthesia for the operating rooms at the UC Irvine Medical Center and its multiple satellite locations in Orange County. Our residents encounter a diverse range of cases which challenge their intellectual and technical skills, providing them with a solid foundation in anesthesia when they graduate.

Applying to Our Program

All applications for our program are conducted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) The following are the required application materials:
  • ERAS Application
  • USLME Scores
  • Transcripts
  • Photograph
  • CV
  • Three letters of recommendation
    (at least two from anesthesiologists and/or Chair or Program Director)
  • Dean's letter

    As a teaching hospital, our residency program allows those interested in pursuing research positions the opportunity to become involved in research either by pursuing their own interests, or joining an existing faculty research program.

    Partnering with several major hospitals in the Los Angeles area, our residents see and experience a wide range of cases to provide them with comprehensive training in pediatric, cardiac, regional and obstetrical anesthesia.
